Food Drive

Join Lakeshore Dance & Gymnastics in feeding the hungry this holiday by bringing in canned and non-perishable food items.  All donations will help stock the food pantry at Vineyard Community Church.

This is a challenge.  The Cheer Team, Gymnastic Team, and Dance Company Instructors have challenged each other that their students will bring in more food donations than the other teams.  The team that wins will get to have a party the week after Thanksgiving.

Please have all donations in by Saturday, November 19th, 2011.

Thank you for your giving spirit!

Spirit Spectacular Competition Schedule

Please arrive ON-TIME, with hair and makeup already done. Coaches will want to run through the routine before their scheduled practice mat time. DO NOT BE LATE! When you walk through the doors, turn left and walk until you see a hallway on the left. Walk through the double doors, and you should see our team on the left. This is our scheduled meeting place, although I can’t “claim” this meeting spot before arriving. I will try my best to secure this location. After finding the team, we do ask that parents take their seats in the arena so we can get the girls focused on performing.

It’s important that we support all of the teams representing Lakeshore Storm All-Stars. Blizzards parents and athletes are expected to be in front of the floor watching and supporting the Flurries. Because of the difference in performance times, we will not require Flurries or Blizzards to stay and watch Hurricanes for this competition. Please show your support for our teams by wearing Lakeshore apparel, or something in our colors; Teal, Black and Silver. When the girls are performing, you will be allowed to come to the floor to watch. Feel free to take video or pictures at this point.

Halloween Party

Each child is invited to wear a not too scary costume and bring in a treat to share with their class. We will take the last 5 minutes of class to pass out treats. Please don't bring in crumbly treats such as cupcakes or cookies.
Your child will have a normal class day, so please make sure you can still fully practice.

Big Sister/Little Sister

This year we have decided to have a Big Sister/Little Sister program. This program will help the girls get to know the other cheerleaders who may not be on their particular team. We feel that it will help bring together our Lakeshore Storm family.
In order to make this work, EVERYONE must participate. At the bottom of this e-mail is a couple of questions that your cheerleader needs to answer and e-mail back to Coach Chelsie (Chelsiegg12@aol.com) as soon as possible. Once I have everyone's answers, we will put each name, with their answers, in a hat. Every girl will then pick out ONE name. That person will be their big or little sister for the entire season. THIS PERSON MUST REMAIN A SECRET! If you tell even one person, it will eventually spread around and it might ruin someone's surprise.
So, your job as a big or little sister is to support who ever you have. You must bring a "gift" to each competition for your sister. We are putting a $10 limit on the gifts. It can be their favorite candy, you can make them a good luck/good job card, you can buy them something that is less than $10 if you would like. You will then wrap your gift or put it in a gift bag and bring it to each competition. DO NOT put your name on it! We want it to remain a secret until we go to our last competition at the end of March. However, you may give them clues as to who you are if you would like. We will have a place to put everyone's gifts at each competition so make sure you write YOUR SISTER'S name somewhere on it, but not your own. We will be doing this at every competition except March 3rd, because the Flurries are not going to that one.

I hope everyone is on board. We really think this is a great way to show support to each cheerleader individually and come together as a FAMILY. Remember, it doesn't take a lot of money to make someone's day! :)

PINK OUT

Blizzards & Hurricanes PINK OUT for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The coaches want to extend a HUGE thank you to all of our athletes for PINKING OUT for breast cancer awareness month. Not only were you recognized by our gym, but received national attention by being posted onto American Cheerleader Magazine's Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as chosen to be part of the top 19 teams chosen by USASF. We will keep you posted as they select a winner to be featured in the November issue of First Friday.
